ElvisThePelvis
Hi Guys Just trying to dark a stock slightly on an old .410 I was given recently, I don't want to refinish it as its in pretty good shape, ideally I would like a dark coloured stock oil to rub in. Any suggestions?
Junkyard Dog
Get some alkanet oil and give it a coat or two then go back to normal stock oil, but you will find that the stock darkens the more coats you adddd of your standard finish
Wingman
Depends what finish is on there already. Unlikely that a stain or oil will take properly over an existing finish. If you want to do it properly consider stripping the old finish it's not difficult.

Thanks, I was trying to take a short cut as the current finish is good, I've used the trade secrets kits before and that was dead easy so will do that
