Generally people go with the logun or weilbruach silencers. From what I gather (not personal exp I add) you can't go wrong with either. nessy
am i right in assuming that the multifit/universal ones are rubber-seal push-on silencers? if so wouldnt that effect accuracy seeing as its a flexible rubber-seal? i was deciding over the Parker Hale universal and the SMK XS17 silencer, (for the same price), I'd rather get Parker than SMK (I heard the former is quieter?) but not if SMK offered a tighter/more secure fit (as it's made specifically for the XS17) cheers for the help!! My Bsa super / lightning silencer is superb ... but then again I have nothing to compare it against.
blackthorn
most silencers are affective its the crack when you hit the rabbits head that disturbers the bunny's
beatingisbest
which make and model airgun are you trying to put it on?
nessy
which make and model airgun are you trying to put it on? im afraid, a SMK 17 shoots alright, abit loud, (seems like i was lucky with SMK's inconsistency) lol but my garden's not that big and i certainly dont plan on huntin/killing with it (i know what you guys think of SMK - hope you'l stil be willing to help). got a decent walther scope on it tho, and decision at the moment: a parker hale universal silencer (i was told i might not be so lucky with SMK's quality again ) and also a universal silencer can be put on my next rifle should i decide on an upgrade. only thing i'm not sure about is what universal/multifit silencers are like in respect to their effect on accuracy
nessy
My rifle has a 14mm barrel, with removable iron front sights, so there are two very small ( < 1mm) mounting groves - can universal silencers still be fitted? Would you recommend the Parker Hale universal or Webley/Logun Pro-System. (all the ones i mentioned are very similar in price so best brand wins) i was told to that i will need to file the groves slightly (have you guys done this with universal silencers?), is that absolutely necessary? if so, would i be better off getting a model-specific one (i was planning on using it on my next rifle - NOT SMK!! ) Thanks for your help!!
