Glenlivet
Had an email from 'Ann Farrel' this morning. "Kindly refer to the attached for more details or click here Brain Teague Uk" I have bought from Teague but the lack of attachment and odd link (unclicked!!) makes me suspicious. This is copied/pasted, not my spelling! 86 year old father had a phone call from HMRC this afternoon telling him an arrest warrant had been issued in his name and would be actioned if he didn't immediately clear his debt. Luckily he passed the phone to me and I told the HMRC (Bangalore branch) to **** right off and die.... Vince Green
Never click on anything you weren't expecting. Its so easy to do though because much if it is so believable.
buze
I have been worried silly that my parents are going to fall for one of these tricks. Older people, as smart as they were have NOTHING like the paranoia needed to deal with that stuff -- you were lucky to catch ths one up Glen! A tricky balancing act to pick this stuff up without seeming to take control of everything.
THE MEK
It's one of the reasons we came back to the UK to keep an eye on him following the death of my mother. A tricky balancing act to pick this stuff up without seeming to take control of everything. Absolutely disgusting. This also worries me with my father when I am away for 3 weeks totally the lowest of the low
Vince Green
One of the things I have had to drum into my 84 year old mother is if the phone rings and then hangs up when you answer it (like you just missed it) don't ring back. Its a premium number and they will keep you talking on the line for ages just to run up the bill. She's had a couple of £20-30 calls on her phone bill like that Edited October 26, 2016 by Vince Green
