impala59
Hope to get on with my ply stock this weekend and am toying with the idea (as its two pieces of 19mm ply) of using 'butterfly or bow tie dovetail keys at each end for strength (at the butt end to give some solid wood for butt plate screws in the centre line) Wondered if any one has tried and with what level of success
demonwolf444
Not tried it but a quality glue between the two bits would be sufficient - its acting over such a large surface area its not going to come apart readily. The screws will grip just fine! Aside from it being unnecessary there is really no reason not to do it - its only going to add strength and if nicely executed could be a interesting design feature. Look forward to seeing how you get on.
