Adrianstruthers
Hi I need to keep a watch on some pens on private land and was looking at a trail cam that would send video or stills to my phone or computer, was wondering if any one has any success with them and what type. Cheers
leadbreakfast
Think you would be better off with a trail cam with a memory card as the ones that send pics would cost you a lot in SMS messages. You could end up paying 10-30p to look at a pic every 15 seconds lol
Dannyboy220
Give it a few days and I'd definitely shoot that Squirrel!
herby
Been there with the cheap ones and its bloody annoying. Get the Bushnel and save yourself days of setting up time and messing about as you can adjust settings off your phone Expensive but well worth it
Adrianstruthers
Cheers, any idea how much data are you using per image or 30 sec clip, even a rough idea would be great.

ChrisPCarter
Think you would be better off with a trail cam with a memory card as the ones that send pics would cost you a lot in SMS messages. You could end up paying 10-30p to look at a pic every 15 seconds lol If you're on EE they have recently put their MMS picture messages up to 50p and that's on contract. I think they are trying to stop people using it and send everything over the data connection. I haven't looked at trail cams recently but if they have ones that will use 3G/4G data you could have a large or unlimited data bundle and send over that if it's supported by the software. Would be far cheaper to use a memory card though and chances are you'll have no mobile signal half the places you want to put it which makes it useless. maddog546
get a camera and set it up on gprs which is how emails are sent,it takes a lot of configuring depending on camera, but its cheaper than mms. I have a minox DTC1000 but you have to set it to use the server in germany, but on test the image is with you within the minute
