I bought enough PowerPro braid to replenish all my (8) boat fishing reels, assortment of rapalas and jelly worms, various sizes of fluorocarbon line, five Columbia style vented outdoor shirts, a cammo net suit, stetson style fishing hat and a fridge magnet for my wife. :stupid:

Everything (incl fridge magnet), at much less than half UK prices.

You could spend all day in one of their stores, twice as big as the biggest Tesco I have seen.

They even have a lake outside for testing boats, from dinghies to 30ft+ offshore boats.

There are also areas with ATV's, Agrocats , specialist trailers etc.

Only this one of the inner entrance lobby.

This is my Wife on the verandah of the beach house we hired for a week, on the Gulf of Mexico, she was thinking of BassPro, so its not really a derailment. B)

When I took this picture of an Appalachicola shrimp boat, I was wondering how far away BassPro was. :stupid:

Trouble is the rest of Macon is a dump, at least it was when I lived about 30 miles south at a place called Perry.

Did you drive south on I75 towards Florida? If so did you pass a giant peach on the left hand side on the top of a 30m mast near a place called Byron?

Jerry, we have been frequent visitors for over 20 years and always fly into Atlanta and then drive in one of the four directions, so we know I75 very well.

Macon has been "refreshed" very much in the last few years and the "historic" district has had quite a makeover.

We always stay at Perry on our last night (if we are coming from the South, or West) then have an easy drive into Atlanta the next day.

Perry also looks a lot better these days and there is a large outdoors/fishing/hunting store on that junction of I75.

Because of the wildfires, there was smell and smoke from Perry right into Atlanta, on Tuesday 22nd.

Its amazing how many thousands of acres have been burned in N Florida and Georgia.
