fortune
I have been reloading with the 28 gauge Sizemaster and somehow the drop tube has gotten locked up and risen up pushing the charge bar along with the powder and shot bottles over backwards. There was an almighty crash and the whole lot about a kilo, has dumped over the table!! There is shot all over the place!!!! I was taken aback. I've abandoned the job for tonight and it will all have to stay until I get home from work tomorrow. A bit of a disaster but not the end of the world. Tomorrow I will hoover up the shot and do a bit of fault finding. Then I will sort out the problem and carry on on reloading Edited March 31, 2017 by fortune
Guest cookoff013
there is a component called the steel shot kit. in the kit is a metal overlarge funnel, it reduces bridging of larg(er) steel shot. it also helps with lead shot. if the blockage jammed up at the bottom of the drop tube, you might want to check for burrs. cervusman
When I spilled some shot many years ago I used an old pair of my wife's tights to put in the hose to collect it, then just switch off and let it pour into a container. Job done without losing any shot.

I had a quick look this morning and it wasn't a bridge blocking it was caused by the lower powder / shot delivery tube being low enough for the black top tube to come out of position when the lever was down. when I returned it back UP THE TOP TUBE WAS LIFTED AND TIPPED THE WHOLE LOT BACK TO A POINT THAT GRAVITY TOOK OVER AND BOOM A KILO OR SO OF SHOT ALL OVER THE PLACE. >> caps GOT PUT ON AND i CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO RETYPE When I spilled some shot many years ago I used an old pair of my wife's tights to put in the hose to collect it, then just switch off and let it pour into a container.
