Road Haulage Costs

Can anyone give me a rough guesstimate of the cost of moving 150 1.5t concrete blocks 390 miles (225 ton total). From West Wales to Southend if that makes a difference. I just need a rough guide for planning estimation job won't be happening for a year or so just need to put a figure in. Loading can be done at either end or driver can load with Hiab, blocks cannot be moved by forks.

Thanks

If you've got a a few weeks time window you'll get the price down a bit , call a few hauliers in the south east and see if any have any empty trailers in the area- there's a few platforms for backloads/return loads that most of them use.

That's the answer. We used to have jobs we did on the cheap to avoid empty wagons.

Thanks for all the replies I've put in a figure of £8000 for planning purposes. Hopefully I never have to phone someone to make it happen. If I do it will mean I have just lost one of the 'perks' of the job. I love working in West Wales, pleasant, green, quiet and congestion free for the most part. On a clear day, driving along some of the coast roads to and from work it's great.
