Hello demand he dose as he is told & get the message across to him your the boss dog's can learn quick. He's no pup now unless you treat him like 1 let them know what you want/expect of there behavour & they grow up.As for making a noise tell him quiet & if he carry's on i give my dog's a light smack on the bridge of the nose within second's of the noise.Your lead hand loop will do for this or heel work to keep his nose back but it get the message through.

dockrat,

Did you do his training by himself in quiet areas?

Have you ever worked him on lead amongst other dogs?

When he is whinning is he aware that he is doing it....some have no idea....?

hi nttf he whines when at training stood in a line whith the other dogs if another dog is working out in front of him while he he waiting for his turn.

his heel work is good off leed on his own but put in the situation in a line and he wants to play will not sit still keeps making a run to the nearest dog or rolling about on the floor other than that he is good on his own.

  • 3 weeks later...

DockRat,

It sounds to me that he needs to work more on lead around other dogs with appropriate corrections when he is trying to creep forward or gets out of his sit. Give a pop when he breaks position, reposition, praise, repeat.

As far as the whinning goes ignore him when he is whinning and praise him when he is silent. try this for a couple of weeks if there is no improvement let me know and I will give you something else to try.

Sorry for the delay in answering I mised your response.
