getthegat
Had to pass on my pleasure and excitement after my 10 month old labby cross rescue dog excelled again after only her 2nd lesson. The teachers mum ( a gun dog trainer)was on hand today to see how Sophie acts around other dogs and what her work training potential was. We found she reacts very positively to the " in " command and also to a specific tone whistle. In a very short time we had her retrieving 2 balls thrown in opposite directions, after staying sat for a minute or two before being given the fetch command and that was with 2 other dogs in the training area. Her focus and eye contact with us was excellent and proved that brain work can be better than a long walk, she was kna.....ed when we got home. Chrissie and her mum were both impressed with the way Soph took to the training, and considering she was a stray on the streets of Ireland until only 4 or 5 months ago, she really surprised us. They both said we are very lucky to have her, though we knew that already of course ?
