JDog
There will be no report on shooting this weekend so look away now if that is what you were expecting. My brother turned 70 years of age on Saturday and to celebrate one of his daughters organised a birthday celebration at 'The Ned' in Poultry London. This building was formerly the headquarters of Midland Bank and it was designed by Lutyens himself. It is a truly spectacular building inside and out with seven floors above ground level with 245 bedrooms and swimming pools etc and I believe four floors below ground level one or two of which housed the vaults. The place was crammed with happy diners and drinkers. In the pictures below I show the door to one of the vaults through which there are bars and a dance floor. I also show some of the safety deposit boxes which have been left in place. I recommend that if anyone is looking for a place to stay or eat or drink in that part of London then this is the place. Today we walked on Hampstead Heath, not looking for action but just taking the air, cold as it was. Jasper was scampering about as I stood under a willow tree where I was joined by three Parakeets which stayed long enough for me to get a phone shot of them. Clodhopper
Obviously Hobnobbing it in the big smoke was a far better proposition than being stuck in a dyke with a wet Labrador and 2 slack jawed yocals. Glad you had a pleasant and interesting weekend.
