new to the flock Posted July 3, 2007 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 estaban, before you start introducing the whistle you want to be sure that your cocker is 100% on you voice commands. It also helps if the dog is at a point where they will sit automatically when you stop. At 15 months if she is at the above point with her sits I would introduce the sit whistle...for me it is one long pip,.......... and the recall whistle which is 3 short pips for me. The recall would be taught on the flexi, while the sit taught on the lead. Training sessions are kept short 15 to 20 minutes and things must be kept fun and exciting expecially at her age. v-max Posted July 3, 2007 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 Hello i get my dog's on verbal first sit for lab's & hup for cocker & in whistle 1-1sec pip to stop/sit/hup & to recal 2-pip's.Once i have huped my cocker i give him a command to go again (gone away) as a positive to go again which at first they unaware off but later in life is another basic command more used in trialling i think or was by some.Cocker's are new to me & iv been reading & learning.
