Redgum
I have just received a recoil pad that is meant to fit a browning 525 stock without any alterations, it does not fit and is a bit short, maybe for a later 525. I bought my browning 525 about 12 years ago, any ideas on any pads that will fit this model or will it be a gunsmith job ? Ps the company that supplied the pad will take it back no problem. welshwarrior
If it had a the hard plastic curved butt plate on you’ll need a grind to fit the modern interchangeable ones the stock is square at the end and have a recoil pad on from the factory. Redgum
Many thanks, yes it has the hard plastic curved butt plate so it'll be a grind to fit job then.
Mirakuru
Just bought a 2015 525 Sporter One with the re-coil pad fitted from new and I think from doing my homework that if it came with the pad from factory then that's the only time it'll be a straight fit, otherwise it's a grind off job. Part of the reason I was so happy to find a 2015 model as once it's on there you can add the spacers between the stock and the pad to extend, which I need being a big lad. If I remember correctly, think they started fitting them around 2014.
