Malc
I've just bought a cheap OU for pigeon shooting, it's a Verney-Carron 12b OU, with double triggers and an unusual side safety catch. It is really lightweight. I wonder if anyone has any experience of these shotguns and also, can anyone shed any light on the proof marks, which are as follows:- A Crown on top of the letters PT on top of two crossed lightening strikes. I've looked on the manufacturers website which was very little help and there is only one for sale on Guntrader. Malc.
Graham M
These are French marks. The crown and the PT are for the Definitive nitro-proof, whilst the two “lightning†marks are a supplementary mark to show that the gun is in the “proved†finished state and ready for sale. G.M. berettaman1
dont know what model you have there, but certainly the ones I looked at and read about in the early 1990,s were allways expensive, you might have a real bargain there.
Malc
I paid £100 and it is in nice condition. I don't know what model it is and the only markings are:- VERNEY-CARRON & SAINT-ETIENNE on the action, plus ACIER DIAMANT EXTRA FIN on the top barrel.
