Jeff999x
Always nice to give praise where it’s due. Well done to the staff at Durham Firearms Licensing Dept. Sent my application for firearms cert in on the 4th Sept, got my grant through this morning with everything requested.
Guest
Wow that's really quick! Good stuff. I sent my SGC grant form off in June and still waiting (Hampshire). Starting to think it'll never show up... Edited October 15, 2018 by Guest
Jeff999x
Perhaps you need to give them a call just to check it’s progress.
Guest
Yeah, some folk have suggested that but I've emailed them a few times and I'm wary of making a nuisance of myself. As someone else said - it's best to just chill and wait for it to turn up - pestering them won't make it arrive any sooner, regardless of how annoying the wait has been/continues to be. Jim DiGriz
When I used to live in Durham I dropped my renewal off at Ackley Heads on the Monday and had the new FAC through the letterbox on the Friday. Epic service.
dodgyrog
I can't say that expeditious service is the norm for Durham! You were the lucky exception it would seem!

I spent a fair bit of time lurking in their armoury so you could say I was known to the Police
Bazooka Joe
Since Durham got rid of the two FEO's selling guns & moved on I have to say they have improved a lot, you actually have FEO's now who know what they are talking about, + commonsense, which has always been a rarity for Durham. They must not have the previous staff that were in the License Dept either, because they were absolutely clueless.
dodgyrog
The Feo and Explosives officers are young ladies who do not have the experience the job requires IMHO. One week's training in explosives in the world of explosives seems a tad light!
Bazooka Joe
Quote The Feo and Explosives officers are young ladies Since the shake up the last two FEO's I've had have both been male, cannot pass judgement on Explosive Officers though.
