squodged
The original post seemed aimed at Clay Shooting. Beretta 680 etc and DT are decent guns, but hardly the best. Krieghoff's Miroku's, Browning, Perazzi's, Vostock MU8 - what about Winchester 101? Surely from the wording you can see where my loyalties lie. As it says "In my opinion", a Beretta seems to be and has been the choice of champions, with 2 of our most succesful shots using them or have used them plus many others. Plus I believe that A J Smth uses a DT10 unless he's changed recently as does Ian Peel & Georgie Jones, Then there's Paul Simpson & Scott Greenfield who both shoot Beretta's. Though as you say Perazzi with which Digweed shoots seems to be a great gun otherwise surely he wouldn't use it. Then you've got Bidwell shooting a Blaser F3, Cheryl Hall shooting a Renato Gamba 2K, Mark Winser shooting a Kreighoff K80 as does Kate Brown the list goes on........... Though it does seem that at the moment the company with the fattest cheque book gets a champion to endorse and use their equipment & if they win with it then surely it must be good. Though I believe that Digweed & Faulds could probably win with a Baikal if it fitted them! Although that is just an opinion!

Holland&Holland
Holland&Holland of course For me seriously, the best gun is one that works properly without faults and does the job to youre satisfaction. And its a bonus if it looks good as well. A gun is of no use if you have to be carefull not to scratch it because it looks too pretty or is too expensive. To me it is a practical tool, i own a couple i bought from some farmers (costs 40 pounds ) which look battered and brused, but are my favourites. Unfortunately they are not H&H (just the nickname).
