moley
hi im new to shooting and would like some info on my crosman ratcatcher i dont know if i should put a trrobb custom breech and bolt on it or not because at the moment it is standard but the scope is a little to far forward and shooting is quite awkward but the trrobb breech has dovetails all the way along it so mounting my scope on one would bring it back a little any help would be great thank you
SNAKEBITE
I have no experience of these guns but with the cost etc involved I would have to say no. Keep it as it is and put the money towards an upgrade.
BSA Shaun
I have to agree with SNAKEBITE on this one. Save the money and upgrade at a later date
moley
thanks guys i will leave it alone .i also have a hw95k can you give me any idea of a good setup to use for medium range rabbit shooting cheers!! :
BSA Shaun
3-9 x 50 MAP scope and silencer would be a start. Then get shooting those targets till you start grouping 5p size at 30 yards. Then grasshopper you are on the road to enlightenment.

SNAKEBITE
Having BOTH the HW95 and the ratcatcher covers all bases for you.
moley
ive shot a few rabbits with the hw95k and they went down no problem my average grouping at 25yards is the size of a 2p coin do you sugest i get more practice before going back out in the field or for all shooting tasks is this grouping fine ie pigeons ,rats and crows at the moment i have a 4x32 simmons on the hw95 and a 3x9x50 ir on the ratcatcher do you think i should swap them over or just buy another 3x9x50
Evil Elvis
A 2p grouping isnt bad for a springer, 5p is a little ambitious!!!
SNAKEBITE
Are we talking standing unrested, rested or prone? After a heavy cider supper the night before my 25yd free standing groups are A4 sized.
moley
2p sized prone and with a rest
Evil Elvis
As long as you attempt headshots only thats fine, how many rabbits have you seen with heads the size of 2p's?

killer rabbit (r1000)
don't bother changing the breach on the ratcatcher, best to put a decent red-dot sight on it (not a laser) - this would compliment your hw95k very nicely as you would have something for shorter ranges with a much quicker aim (eye-relief isn't so much of an issue with red-dot sights)
