Walker570 Posted March 30, 2019 Report Share Posted March 30, 2019 (edited) I was very fortunate to have this man as a close friend for the best part of 25yrs and heard a lot of the stories on this site first hand. His wife Jeanne has put together this site so hunters can read again some of the articles he wrote. I have a number of his books and he always wrote common sense. One memory was at the Game Fair in 1986, he came over with his wife Jeanne and on route north to Scotland we spent the day at the Fair. He spotted a stand displaying black powder guns and went over and started a conversation. The young man on the stand eventually said, "Well, if you have a look on the magazine stands there is a guy over in the USA who is a recognised expert on black powder guns, his name is John Wootters. John, just said, "Your talking to him". I don't know how long that young chaps mouth remained open ......
