New Field

The farmer rang me and told me of a field i didnt even know about. The rabbits are coming out of a paddock and have taken a liking to his 2 inch high cereal crop. Tuesday evening only yielded one, last night two and a miss. Today I thought i would try in the afternoon. Loaded the Landy and was just reversing out of the drive when I remembered bullets would be handy, the wife thought this was highly amusing and had a good laugh, I told her, at least i didnt do the twenty minute drive to the field and then find i hadnt any. I drove down the edge of the field and parked up, took the binos out put them on the dash, same with range finder, flask also close at hand. What a lovely day sun shining, light breeze, great to be out. Got me rollup sorted,  filled me clip with the bullets i almost forgot, went to cycle the bolt   I think i am loosing it big time . Well I was that disgusted with myself i went home and stayed home, maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

Been there done that but in far worse situations. Found no bolt 120miles from home when about to stak in a very tightly reserved piece of woodland on which I had been given very special permission.   ALSO, arrived at Gatwick airport for a flight to Texas, USA and began to unload the Range Rover and no rifle case !!!  in order to reduce the pieces of luggage my friend had brought his rifle into the house and we had put both our rifles in my double rolling airline gun case.  It was now sat on our kitchen table and you felt peed off ... imagine.

Fortunately prior 9/11 and I just purchased a 30-06 from a local gunstore when we got there.
