casts_by_fly
Hi All, Being new here, I don't know quite how everythig works yet. Back in the states there were plenty of shooting ranges. Some were public ranges on public land, some were private ranges you had to pay to use. You could also shoot on your own land or land you had permission to be on so long as you were being safe. How does it work here? For instance, when I import my guns in a few months, I'll need to check that the rifles kept their zero's. If I were to get a new gun I'd have to sight it in entirely. Are there ranges where the public can go (for a fee) and shoot rifles? I'm talking about small calibers (243 and under). Specifically I'm around Hull/Beverley but I don't mind traveling if I have to. I'll also be joining the BASC when my bank account gets straightened out if that opens anything up. Thanks, Rick
Eagleman
I am not really sure of your status? Are you a visitor to the UK or now a resident? What I am not at all sure about is where you stand with Firearms Certificates which you must have to own a firearm in the UK. I am not at all sure where foreigners (if you are a foreigner) with guns fit into this framework. Presumably, you have all these issues in hand. Re clubs etc I would recommend you contact Yorkshire Shooting Supplies http://www.rimfiremagic.co.uk/ who will certainly know the ranges around your way. casts_by_fly
Hi guys, I am a new resident, with permanent resident status. I do have places to shoot (game) and I have 2 references for my FAC. I'll be finalizing my application by the end of the month and I think I have all of my ducks in a row. My question was looking out a few months when I can bring my guns in from the states. At the moment I have a 22LR, 17 HMR, and by then I'll have a 223 that I'll want to bring in (plus 2 shotguns). Once I have them here I have a farm to shoot game on and will be looking for more. But before I can shoot game I'll need to check all of my zero's. Thanks, Rick
Andy RV
Just out of interest, are the many ranges that will allow you to shoot rimfire/ center fire rifles if you don't have a licence?
