quicksilver
Hi guys, Looking for any dates of game fairs that would be worth a trip across from n. ireland for. I went over for the CLA show last year and was impressed, we had serious problems getting somewhere to stay though ( didnt plan the trip very well, ) thanks in advance quicksilver
Rob_88
see if you can get hold of last weeks shooting times, as it had a list of all the shows on this year with dates.
Rimfire
Hi, I booked accommodation for this years CLA in December last year. I had a devil of a job as there were very few places left. I eventually got into the Holiday Inn Express at the Hassan Stadium in Oxford, this was as near as I could get, everywhere else was booked. If you have left it this late to book accommodation, I wish you well... Regards Rimfire

quicksilver
we had tents etc with use last year and thought that if the worst come to the worst we will simply camp at the show. even the campsite was booked solid. When we eventually got into a travel lodge on the friday night we just wanted to get some beer down us . We got so ****** that it was after lunch on the saturday when we got up. We had to run around the show and missed most of the interesting stuff. Needless to say we plan to take our wives this year to try and keep us on the straight and narrow. regards quicksilver
webber
QS In my experience wives and game fairs can be a mixed blessing, which need carefull handling. Craft tents are ideal places to give women the slip, but terrible if you cant, and get dragged around like a 4 year old. Plus you cant do your own thing. On the otherhand wives can be a usefull resourse of extra cash, loans usually forgotten about after Sunday tea. Wives are also usefull to hang the new purchases on, thus leaving both hands free for whatever. I learned my lesson years ago; now the wife stays at home, I tip her up the night before on the pretext that I lent all my cash to our son. Go to game fair bright and early, take mate and his growing lad, who gets a clip if he moanes about the weight of stuff being piled on as the day progresses, and the threat of not being brought next year becomes ever real. God help us if we ever go that far. Get home late, dinner in fridge, blitz in microwave, consume meal, upstairs to pre-warmed bed, end to a perfect day. Thats if you ever get off the car park! webber
