decroyffe
It's been almost 4 week now, the last was a matter of 3 days. I've been bighting my tongue because it's not my RFD fault, but he's the only link between me and my rifle. When the rifle was first sent in the gunsmith did say there was a problem with the lathe?? not sure what one is so excuse the spelling. This would mean the overall turn around would be 2 week. now the problem is i'm of on some more hols sunday, (her indoors) and when i get back i'm on nights for a week. Add that 3 week to the four and and what you get is one ****** of solider. £1200 and i have to wait 7 week to pull the trigger I dont lose my ragg that eaisly but when i do i tend to upset people, which isnt good because it's a sort of uncontrolled and out of order burst. Has anyone got some wise words and is this the norm

JohnGalway
If I were in your position I would go to the shop and ask for my rifle back. I'd be polite but keep asking for it back, just ignore suggestions of oh it'll only take another week we just spoke to the guy this morning. Their problems aren't your problems. Just make it clear you need your rifle *insert whatever reason* and would like to bring the rifle elsewhere to be threaded, no offence to them, don't want to upset anyone but you need the job done. It's always harder to argue with someone who is polite and than the proverbial bull in china shop who does this
Dunkield
Had 2 done, both turned arround same day. The first one was by Steve Kershaw, I will second what Dave says - top man Politely get it back and get it into Steve, he is a busy bunny these days but he will still do what he can to sort you out. decroyffe
Well today i called in and asked for the rifle back. The RFD called the gunsmith and reach the answer machine. he left a message saying he was collecting the rifle, job done or not. He also made it quite clear that he was unhappy about the time and would re-think any further business. Tomorow i call to see how things went?? decroyffe
Well today i called to collect the rifle, the rfd went to great lengths and got me one in with factory thread. He also upgraded the S&B to a swarovski at no extra cost. The only problem was he didn't have a mod to match the thread, so i'll have to wait now till monday for that. The other thing was he did the threaded rifle at the same cost as one without, so more money saved which has come in very handy. Davek mentioned steve kershaw at howden, where is that??? i still need the mod fitting with the bush?? regards decroyffe
