JKD
Thought I'd ask this question on here as I'm probably going to get the answer from the most knowledgeable people on t'internet π I've been looking for some outside lighting and am interested in the Philips range but,,,, don't really need [or want at the moment] the smart system. So my question is,,,, is it possible to use ordinary led bulbs in place of the Philips smart bulbs ? I just need lights that switch on and off via a switch or a sensor. I've done the usual searches but can't find a definitive answer. MTIA
djrwood
Am I missing something? Arenβt you just after a standard light fitting and bulb?
manthing
Hue are smart bulbs aren't they. Got 1 in the lamp in the living room. The actual lamp fitting may be smart if linked to an alexa, so the fitting would use any bulb. You need to clarify what your looking at. JKD
OK,,,, I've scrapped this idea and gone for a different design/manufacturer. I just liked the design/style of one of their fittings, but they all seem to be a sealed unit and only controlled by a smart system or Bluetooth. Just don't want that sort of set up. Thanks anyway guys, but like I said, found some others more suitable π 1 hour ago, djrwood said: Am I missing something? Arenβt you just after a standard light fitting and bulb? Yes,,,, see my reply above π 17 minutes ago, manthing said: Hue are smart bulbs aren't they. Got 1 in the lamp in the living room.
