Night shooter
I'm after a new scope for shooting at night prefable 50 or 56 lens for light gathering, and up to about 20x mag. I also fancy an illuminated recticle. I don't know where to start really . I'll pay up to £500. Ideas and views on tried and tested scopes. Because i don't have a clue. And you lot seem to be very knowledgable on these sort of topics. Thanks

Night shooter
it looks a nice stylish scope mate, is your illuminated? jonny
deadeye ive
NS It's a big help to know the calibre of rifle you intend this scope to sit on and what type of shooting you intend doing the most with it . £500 will get you into some top europeon glass albeit second hand whereby variable power is concerned
Night shooter
I'll be putting it on a 220 swift, which i use for long range fox shooting anything up to 350 yards. just need something that will do a decent job. I not to hot on optics. jonny

tulkyuk
If you can add another ton to the price, i know of a supurb Swarovski 6-24 x50mm AO scope going for grabs

Night shooter
Hi I love the velocity that the gun can achieve and the flat trajectory, my mates got one, so I’ve done a fair bit of shooting with that. He loads his own ammo and has even had the velocity up to 4550fps on the chrono, but he lost abit of accuracy. He now loads 50grain bullets with ballistic tips and they don’t seem to take any prisoners. They run at an average of 4250fps which is still very fast with over 2000 Lbs per square foot at the muzzle. He’ll take shots up to 400 yards and has even had a few at 450 on a perfectly still night, (but he is sniper trained). I’ve gone up to 350yards on a couple hit the one missed the other but sometimes you have to take the shot. What do you think to them?
