BSA Shaun
As you may remember asked a few weeks ago for someone with decoy experience to take me out with them, either to observe or have a cheeky go or two. Well had a days pigeon decoying with Kev on Wednesday. Hell of a drive but worth every minute. Set up around 11 and all was looking good, few pigeons on the move and hundreds of gulls. Kev took me through the ropes of setting a basic pattern with some deeks, a couple of peckers and 2 bouncers. Things were looking interesting and we had a few pigeons that were interested but this was brought to a halt by the tractor turning up to plough the field. So we packed up and waited for the tractor to have ploughed enough to be clear, was a good excuse to get some scran down! Set up again after the tractor was clear and again was looking good but something was turning the pigeons just as they were getting into range, it probably didnt help that the plough was knackered and shining like a beacon in the air. ANyway we persisted and got a couple in the end. One was a cracking shot by Kev which I didn't even see until the puff of feathers and the thud of the bird hitting the ground, this was almost willingly retrieved by kevs lab Scooby. Packed up not long later and although not many birds were shot it was a great day none the less. Godd to share a few tales and sit in the glorious sunshine with Kev and Scoob. Much rather that than sit in an armchair all day. Thanks again to Kev for his hospitality

pin
Well done to both of you, that's what its all about, better than being at work or sat at home. I've recently taken garyb off here out for a few shoots, not massive bags but great sport. To me it's more about the experience than shooting 100 birds every time, though that would be nice
BSA Shaun
I only popped it in the ground to get it out of the way, then I just forgot
