Hunter
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/sto...,476587,00.html Looks like Foot and Mouth will also cause problems with British wild Deer. Looks like Foot and Mouth has spread more then we think.. Lets hope it does not mean a cull on wild Deer if it gets bad! EDIT: I have noticed a date on the article as 2001, however due to the area of F&M break out, theres a good chance of Deer infection this time around. Lets hope we wont see it as bad as the last time around.
Suffolk shooter
Whilst I think I know where you're coming from, surely we need to do something about the amount of deer nationwide as I don't know about where you are but in Suffolk all species are present and starting to cause RTA's everywhere and serious damage to both crops and plantations/woodlands. Also due to their transient nature they will and do spread diseases such as F&M and Bovine TB etc across connecting farmland. SS
Hunter
I live near Ashdown Forest, theres a Deer related accident quite often up there. I was always worried while riding a motorcylce around here of being jumped by one
al4x
It is possible deer are the link here, like sheep they don't exhibit the symptoms as fast or as evidently. The odd thing about this outbreak is the time scale which does look as if something hosted the disease and has passed it on.
