Goldfish
Sorry @harrycatcat1 just picked up on this thread. The law for trapping and using these traps was updated to include the use of a tunnel, without a tunnel they are illegal. The tunnel length is normally about 18" to meet good practice with bars spaced at 2"at the entrance to stop birds and dogs etc from getting in or a person sticking their hand in. I also put a warning sign on mine to cover my ****. Edited October 30, 2021 by Goldfish
Goldfish
The circular hole behind the trigger plate should have a mesh sheet so you can put nuts in it with them resting on the mesh and visible to the squirrels. I tie it to a tree with the entrance pointing to the ground. I put mine at shoulder height up the tree to stop Badgers and put a blob of peanut butter on the trigger plate and on the trunk near the entrance. Also remember the trap must be visited at least once in every 24 hours to meet the regulations. Edited October 30, 2021 by Goldfish

Eddie B
Lads, I believe the Kania is no longer in production, so mind your traps. Be impossible to get them in the near future
