chippy18
Dont know if anyone watched the pilot on the 21st, but this is a section from a news letter that the Country Channel sent me today. Might be worth keeping an eye out for. EXCITING NEWS both for us and for viewers!Jack Hargreaves iconic TV series OUT OF TOWN returns!Country Channel TV has secured the rights to develop a modern version of the series, with the blessing of former presenter Jack Hargreaves’ family. OUT OF TOWN (originally made by Southern Television) was hugely popular in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. OUT OF TOWN 2 will seek to recreate the spirit of Jack Hargreaves with his passion and love for the countryside in an updated format for a 21st century audience. Country Channel TV recently filmed the pilot programme for the new series in Hampshire, in collaboration with fly fishing guru Charles Jardine, comparing Jack’s 1950’s split cane rod (an Ogden Smith Warrior fly rod) with Charles’ own carbon fibre modern fly rod. Presenting the new series is Jack’s biographer, modern day countryman and journalist Paul Peacock, author of ‘Jack Hargreaves: A Portrait’. There is already a massive amount of interest in this new series and some of you may have seen the pilot episode previewed on BBC South on Friday 21st September.
