Sundowner
I can;t believe it, but when I shot pigeons over stubble just a few days back they came in alright, but now that the fields are poughed and drilled I see them sitting in their 40's and 50's, Is it worth trying to decoy them now? I am developing a love - hate relationship with woodies
malkiserow
I decoyed on ploughed field last night ..... not good as I noticed the skyrats flaring off. UMmmmm I thought what is wrong here..... so down came the magnet ... hey presto woodies come in ..... seem to be shooting them in 10 to 30 number range each time now..... 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on light time etc...... The last 3 times I've either not used the magnet or had to take it down. The magnet has worked very well some days but not right now. Edit.... should add.. I chose the spots just because that is where they were when I arrived ..... otherwise the fields all look the same...... woodies seem to find something where I deeked. cheers Malk
invector
Plenty of pigeons where I am, on heavy soils sown with winter wheat. They are gleaning the spilt grain, so they will soon move on.
Blackpowder
Lots of pigeon in the Scottish Borders feeding on drilled ground which was previously bean stubble.
