the hitman
My 8 month old cocker has no probs retrieving a dummy , so this week i tied an elastic band around a pigeon to try him on a real bird. He picked it no probs and was desperate for me to keep throwing it. A mate gave me a teal to try him with , he picked it up but , then dropped it 10 feet from me, he did this three times so i tried him back on the dummy , which he brought to hand straight away..Perhaps it was the different taste of the duck that put him off. gdunc
Did you put an elastic band round to hold the wings in? Just curious as cocker's will sometimes pick up and carry by the wing which i think is fine. My 6mnth cocker 'stole' a freshly shot pigeon from me yesterday and was for making off with it before I noticed and got her in. Little ****** enjoys carrying almost too much!
