Poor Shot
Completed the survey. A self imposed assurance scheme would be a disaster IMO. I don't think I can recall a single assurance scheme (self imposed or not) which, though started with the best interest of the industry or activity it claims to represent, has not quickly morphed into an incredibly complex, expensive box ticking and form filling exercise which serves no other purpose than to supply those who manage the scheme with an income stream. I work in the electronic security industry and there are endless assurance schemes and accreditations that take an awful lot of time to complete (the paperwork) and cost enormous amounts of money to gain and maintain but do not absolutely nothing to help end bad practice within the industry. All this would do is add an extra few £'s to the price per bird and ensure that some small syndicate shoots and clubs get sick of the endless **** they'll have to deal with from jobs worth auditors and pack it in.
