Cobbers Posted April 19, 2023 Report Share Posted April 19, 2023 As the title suggests, I’ve found out that yesterday my local force have suspended new grant applications. I can’t however find any clarity on how current applications are affected? I applied for an FAC on the 12th April, payment was taken and I also currently hold an SGC. the text on the police page reads “The decision has been made to temporarily suspend any new grant applications.” and also further down “We are working through applications as quickly as possible.” this, to me, reads that NEW applications are not being allowed (which stands true as the website doesnt allow you to submit an application now.) But I can’t quite gather if they mean they will be also cancelling all applications currently in progress. Thanks Scully, that was the bit I’m a little confused about. “New” Are they talking about a first time FAC /SGC application, or are they saying we are not taking on “any further applications?” isn’t a grant always “new”, as otherwise it would be a renewal…. im wracking my brains trying to work this one out. it would be easier if they clarified if current applications are affected… it’s awfully cryptic! i have emailed them, but their reply was that they are not replying to emails which the answers are available on the website! If they said “suspending new grants”, then it would make sense. but they are suspending first time grant “applications”. So suspending the ability to apply?
