Sussexboy
First syndicate shoot today, first outing for my my chocolate lab. He gave a very good impression of being nearly under control, a few hair raising moments of "where's my ******* dog", but no more than anybody else. Just let him work the easiest drive which doesn't border any of the others and the last drive. He really did quite well, even picked two birds and delivered them to hand from a sit, nice easy ones that gave him a taste of work. The other five drives I kept him on the lead. All in all a most enjoyable day out.

Sussexboy
well done  Thanks Dazza. I got lots of conflicting advice from various people about how to handle the first outing, in the end you just have to do what seems right for your dog. Ferretboy111
Lovely, how old is he? Alex
Sussexboy
Alex, the boy in question is 20 months, adult in body but still a pup at heart. I was quite annoyed that I had forgotten my camera when he was trotting in with that first cock pheasant. To say I was immensely proud of him would be an understatement.
