SPAS 15
Hi, Got a couple of 100+ years old shotguns that need a deep clean to remove decades worth of oil and grime. Does anybody have advice on what would be the best solution or product to use in my ultrasonic cleaner? Many thanks.
Imperfection
Best stuff i've tried is Jiff lemon-like what you put on pancakes. I buy the cheapest lemon juice i can find which is usually Aldi. Add quite a bit to the water (too much will never damage anything) then let the device do its thing. SPAS 15
And it will smell lovely. It is certainly worth a try. Thanks.
Karlos_
Hey, Brands like Ballistol or Hoppe's No.9 Gun and Bore Cleaner are widely used and respected. Hoppe's in generally an American product however I'm sure you will be able to find a UK supplier with a quick google search. Ballistol do all sorts of cleaning solutions so it will just be finding the right one. https://ballistol.co.uk/pages/firearms-cleaning Edited September 11, 2023 by Karlos_
fixedwheel
I use Lyman Turbo Sonic in my ultrasonic. They do both a gun parts solution as well as a separate case cleaning solution. I got mine from Spud, no doubt available elsewhere as well.
