  1. Thanks for all the advice I have now managed to get it out by soaking it in oil for a few weeks. thanks again
  2. Hey Rob, That sounds like a fantastic idea! I appreciate your willingness to join us for a shoot at Lains. It would be great to have someone who knows their way around and also offer some guidance and share a few laughs while we're at it. I'm available most weekends, I will drop you a DM so we can plan something. Thanks again for the offer, and looking forward to meeting up for some shooting. Best regards, Karl
  3. Thanks for the advice I will give that ago and see how I get on. Thanks again
  4. I'm after some help. Seeking suggestions and advice on how to safely and effectively remove a stuck shotgun choke. Any tips or techniques that could help with this issue would be greatly appreciated, or am I best taking it to a gunsmith. Thanks in advance Karl
  5. That makes a lot of sense, especially when it comes to longer-range shooting. Consistency is paramount, and the potential for even slight adjustments to introduce variability would be a hindrance, and the practicality of settling on a single power level to avoid frequent re-zeroing is a valid point. Could you kindly recommend some single power models that would be good, and what power would be best? I'm looking to get a .22, so your insights would be greatly appreciated.
  6. The RAT look is not a new thing and has been in the VW scene for along time, as mentioned the style originated in the United States, particularly in Southern California, in the 1950s and 1960s. Mainly in the custom car and hot rod culture. However over the years it has gained popularity in the UK. If done correctly and well it can look really impressive depending on your taste its also called patina, as mentioned it been a VW thing for many years and I've seen it at many VW shows, below are a few of the good ones I've seen. But it's not for everyone. 😂
  7. Hey, Wanted to share my son’s recent dive into clay shooting. He decided he wanted his own hardware and picked up a Bakial 27E for £80. I wasn't to sure on his choice for a first-timer with it being double trigger, however his first idea was a SXS. We both went over to The Spitfire Shot (Stockbridge). And what do you know? Within 10 minutes, he’s nailing shots. Singles, pairs, teal, driven pheasant, bolting rabbit he was loving it. Seems like he’s got a knack for it, a real natural talent. Gotta admit, I’m pretty chuffed. If any of you seasoned shooters have some pointers for a rookie like my son, feel free to share your wisdom. Here’s to more clay-crushing sessions ahead for him. Best regards, Karl.
  8. I'm seeking recommendations for a FAC air rifle. I'm in the process of selling my Air Arms S410 TDR and considering purchasing a replacement with adjustable power to fill the void left by not having a Sub 12. I'm looking for a cost-effective option, preferably second-hand, within the budget range of £800-£900. What are your insights on the benefits of adjustable power, and could you suggest any models that align with my budget and needs?
  9. I couldn't agree more the whole of society has become so superficial, you only have to look at not only social media but main stream TV programs like Love Island. Its a sad state to be in as a country.
  10. Yeah its not a bad place to be, still just finding my feet trying to gain new permissions which is always the hard part of relocation. So I'll just keep knocking on doors. what were you up to in Amesbury anything nice?
  11. Hey, Brands like Ballistol or Hoppe's No.9 Gun and Bore Cleaner are widely used and respected. Hoppe's in generally an American product however I'm sure you will be able to find a UK supplier with a quick google search. Ballistol do all sorts of cleaning solutions so it will just be finding the right one. https://ballistol.co.uk/pages/firearms-cleaning
  12. Hello, I'm Karl, I recently relocated from Dorset to Wiltshire near Amesbury, which meant giving up my previous shooting permissions. With over 15 years of experience in pest control mainly using ferrets and air rifles, I've decided I would like to learn more about pigeon shooting and stalking. I hold both FAC and SGC, I'm here primarily to gain knowledge and insights from the community. I hope to learn from those who have experience in pigeon shooting and contribute my own experiences to the forum as well. I look forward to being part of this community and appreciate the opportunity to grow and share knowledge with all of you. Thank you for welcoming me to the Pigeon Watch Forum.
