Mink trap remote monitoring

Hi All,

I hope everyone is having a good game season so far. Here's a question for you all. Does anyone know of a decent/cost effective mink trap remote monitoring device preferably one that sends an SMS via a mobile network and doesn't have a huge subscription fee (preferably none 😁)

Lads have said use the LTE trail cameras but the only decent ones are probably spypoint which are a few quid I'd like to get a few traps down in remote enough areas.

There's also the skyhawk kiwi which is a good idea but the subscription is $8 per month but Im' not sure if it will work in Ireland.

Anyone have any homemade devices that work?

The old mobile phone might be worth a try. There are video's on youtube, of how to put it together. Main problem with that setup, Is keeping it dry. 

 I've also come across a trap alarm on Aliexpress. Looks good, but shipping to Ireland is over €80, which takes the good out of it.

A mobile will need to be left switched on so battery life will be an issue, dedicated trap alarms are not cheap, have a look at the links below.
