It with heavy hearts we have to inform you that the man, the myth, the legend, dad, friend, all round top shot our very own Jack Reed passed away the early hours of Sunday morning in Durham Hospital. As some of you know Jack had been suffering a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He’s at peace now

We will keep you updated on Funeral arrangements etc.

Bad news, sorry to hear it, I knew Jack in the 70s (he had returned from abroad) I worked for Steve Smith in the Newcastle shop on a Saturday.

Jack and I were in a shoot off, on a Driven Pheasant stand. Jack won, but only by one, walking towards the tower, after we both shot straight 25s.

We were 10 yards from the tower at the finish, probably wouldn't be allowed nowadays!

He won a case of Gin.

Good job really because I was only 14 at the time.

He shot well on the Turner Trophy stand that day as well.

That was in 1973/1974 a long time ago, 50 years!

RIP Jack.
