That is a beautiful piece of history.

Really wish I had the safe space for it.

Good luck with the sale

Thank you.

Space is the problem these days!

Real collection piece, in a few years to come I would think !

Thanks, yes might be as Mick did say he hadn't received my first PM offering to buy. If I quote him on my next post he'll get an alert 👍

OK I'm back!

Yes I've been out all night.

The gun belongs to my best friend, who is not a member on here.

I've sent him your messages and now waiting for him to get back to me. I'll be at his house when  the gun is sold.

Hopefully he can get a photo of the bore,we had the gun apart on Wednesday but I don't remember looking.

It was his dads gun, who was head keeper on one of Yorkshires biggest estates, he's been struggling getting rid of a mountain of stuff!

i will get back to uou but it may be tonight as he still works!

Mick

Amazingly I'm in Stirling this weekend visiting my mum!

The barrel has a few very light marks.

This is normal for a 70 year old shotgun.

I've posted photos but it's very difficult to see anything.

If I were contemplating buying this gun, it wouldn't put me off, not when it's less than £300.

My friend is very picky and says its actually fine.

Hope this helps.

Hi if it has pitting it would be better to take it to a gunsmith and have him check the barrel out to see if its still safe to shoot as the barrel may be unsafe depending on where the pitting is and how much metal is left its better to be safe than sorry

It is indeed sold.

I used it today on clays fresh from picking it up.

I cant complain, hitting the first 6 clays and then just missing one out of the next 6.

(It went downhill from there as it normally does for me but the gun didnt miss a beat)

It got some interest from some fellow shooters with good success for them also with the few shots they fired.

Cheers mickyh for advertising this and thanks for your quick responses to my PM's.

Regards
