Computer monitor problem.

I use a monitor to view the cctv camera images,   well I did until it was turned off when we went away for a fortnight.  On return the system did not display.  Luckily I had another monitor and plugged it in basically to find if the problem was the base unit or the monitor. This afternoon I decided to check the failed monitor on another computer.  When I  fired it up there was an image on the screen which vanshed after a couple of seconds. If I turn the monitor on and off the screen does show image . So all works but is there some sort of internal battery that went flat and now won't accept charge.

I've been told that some panels do have a kind of battery but "not as we know it JIM".  Known as an electrolytic.  I  might just pull it down.  Simple job.. only 8 screws holding the front to the back. And have a closer look with a magnifying glass to see if anything looks a bit odd / out of normal. Nothing ventured Nothing gained.
