If your shooting paper then simply test it out. This will give you a better idea of how useful lyou are with open sights. I would say though, if your shooting live quarry then fit a scope. It doesnt have to be anything fancy I picked up Nikko Stirling Mount Master 4 x 36 which came with mounts. Cracking scope for the money (£20) that worked well on my spinger. Good to 40 yards anyway, more than enough.
