auto culto
just picked up an amber filter for my LF170 and can safely say its **** . Tried it a few mins ago in the back yard and light reflects all round the exterior of the filter which in turn almost blinds you and lights you up like a christmas tree, and once its fitted you cant alter the focus of the beam without removing the damn thing. Really for such a good lamp LF have really made a **** designed filter. Whilst i,m ranting and on the subject why the hell did they fit such a god damn noisy switch also . I'm going to have to paint the filter to stop the light escaping back or somthing like that. Has anyone else done any mods to there's ? vermin hunter
I have a red one on mine and had no such problems. Just cuts down your meterage.
tulkyuk
Put Black insulation tape around the edge and on the lugs - it stops any light coming back at you Just put the middle of the tape around the rim and fold down each side, then you can take the filter off and on as you wish - if you want a pic just ask and i'll photo mine for you and put it up. nav54
did have the same problem with the amber filter but like suggested black tape sorts that out. I found the amber filter good because it still gives good distance over the red filter but takes the bright glare off the white light then as you want to take the shot if you are lamping with a buddie get them to remove the filter as the shot is to be taken.
