Newbie_AH
I just purchased a Renato Gamba Daytona. Was all set to purchase a Caeser Guerini Summit and guy in gun shop suggested I try the Daytona. So glad I did. The build quality felt amazing straight away and palm swell and weight around action were fantastic. It’s no lightweight gun but I found it very manageable and stable. I’m a novice but it inspired so much confidence instantly. My only concern is servicing and parts with there being no dealers in the UK. Does anyone have any experience with this? Scully
You have a fabulous gun! I have had one for years and the build quality, handling and sheer elegance are second to none. I believe Renato Gamba were at one time the finishing house for Perazzi, and it is 90 odd % identical to a Perazzi, so anyone who works on those will be very familiar with whatever should need doing to a Daytona. I think all left the factory fixed choke, and mine was retro fitted with thin wall Teague’s. You have a gun for life there, enjoy it. Really do like it and just want to make sure I can get it serviced easily and keep it in tip top shape. Fil
Very nice gun. They have quite the following and deservedly so. They still operate in Italy. A gunsmith can order parts direct these days with the wonder of the interweb. I've ordered spares from Germany and I don't speak an ounce of German! Servicing no problem. A competent gunsmith with years of experience would have been through them already enough times. Parts like main springs no problem as they can be generic or made up if a quick turnaround needed. Strikers also. I have a customer who owns one and when I service it he supplies the springs and pins, etc. So they are easily obtainable. Saves me sitting on the computer when I should be on the bench. I'm not aware of any "achilles heels" of those guns in my experience. Enjoy your gun.
