myuserid
I'm going away next week for 10 days, during the 10 days I will be going on a few shoots so would like to take my shotgun. I will be staying with a very good friend who I will be shooting with (also has an SGC). Do I have to notify my local firearms dept that I'm going away with my shotgun for 10 days or not? I know if you lend your shotgun for more than 72 hours you have to, but not all that sure if you take it away from the county/registered home. al4x
you're fine, Just take it and then give it to your mate to put in his cabinet. To keep the legal side right technically you would be lending the gun to him while it was in the cabinet but not for long enough to notify the Firearms dept. You obviously don't have access to the cabinet while you are there.
myuserid
Thanks for clearing that one up, just wondered if keeping shotgun in his cabinet would constitute lending, obviously not
