Thread size help required

I have a Bisley  12G shotgun chamber brush, and I want to turn a handle for the brush.

The threads are 9/32” - 26 tpi

What is the difference between a 9/32 - 26 tpi BSF tap, and a 9/32” - 26 tpi BSB tap, and are they different or compatible ?

Why I ask, is because I have a set of the BSF taps, but not the BSB.

Any help from the knowledgeable PW members would be appreciated 👍

As far as I know, BSB (British Standard Brass) is the same 55° Whitworth form thread, so 26tpi BSF should work.

I believe that the thread was an odd old Enfield size and that there is no equivalent BSF or BSB size . It was nearer 27 tpi and an odd diameter. I have made some chamber brush rods with 9/16 BSB and some brushes fit and some will not

Thanks for the info, and I was thinking the same, regarding the the same pitch .

I will drill and tap a hole a bit later and try it out, for fit.👍
