Mrs Sweepy
well, just got back from taking the dogs for a walk .tonight is one of those nights. that really do remind you that christmas is just around the corner. the night is light and still .the ground white and crisp. i just love wrapping up on a cold night i even put on my new hat that sweepy had bought for me (bless him ).anyway because we live in a village and was heading for the fields behind are house .sweepy thought it would be best to take hes lamping light with him . wasnt long in the fields before we got some bunnies in the red filter light of sweepys lamp..sweepyspotted them straight away but it took me a little bit longer to see them.he then explain to me how you know they were bunnies and not anything else . on the way back ,while the dogs were doing the hedges ,sweepy shone hes lamp across the next field .the back drop to this field is all woody .and as he shone hes lamp across we spotted a few more bunnies then all of a sudden we pick up some more eyes in the woody part of the field .but these eyes were differant .unlike the bunnies eyes were you only pick the one eye up in the light .there looking back at us was a pair of bright orange eyes A FOX . we stood still .dogs sat by are side.and sweepy started to call it in (i think i even held my breath).but then no sooner had the eyes appeared and they where gone again .we stood shineing the lamp. hoping we could catch sight of it again but no we were out of luck .so we headed back home. now i have been out lamping with sweepy before .but this was different .it was just nice to be able to watch the wildlife and enjoy the peace of the night . xxxx suzy
Guest The Outlaw
Hi Suzy Nice post but, I think Sweepy took you out as a hint that he wanted a new fox call for Christmas. Because the one he used didnt work, it scared "Charlie" away Tony
Cranfield
Sometimes its just nice to be out and about and enjoy the quiet. We are fortunate to have no street lights near us and so we have very dark skies. Its amazing just how many stars there are up there.
