Need advice

Hi all,

This is my first post on the forum, I have however, lurked in the background for some time.

Enough with the intro,... I have just moved to the UK from Sweden to work. At home I do a fair bit of clay shooting but not as much of the real thing as I would like. My usual targets are boar, deer and moose (in theory at least), although the odd pheasant and duck comes my way occasionally.

What I am looking for here is for a way to get out in the country now and then and do some pigeon shooting. I understand that you guys are doing this as a hobby and I don't want to impose on anyone to drag me along. I would really appreciate it though if you have any ideas of where I can turn in order to maybe buy a day of pigeon shooting with a guide. Any websites, phone numbers, adresses etc. are greatly appreciated.

Any ideas, hints or tips from people in the know so to speak, would be great. Btw, I am in the Luton area and at the moment I do not have a car or a gun, but I am looking to bring a car over come the end of summer.

Regards.

/Sporter.

Firstly, you need to enquire about an international firearms pass. Your local force will tell you about how you can use your Sewdish license over here. Without proper certification, it will be illegal for you to shoot, so you must sort that issue out first.

If you buy the "Sporting Gun" magazine, there are advertisements for guided pigeon shooting.

Thank you for your inputs, I really appreciate it.

I will get started with the international firearms pass. Then try some literature.

red_stag88: Actually, I come from a small town an hour's drive from Malmö. Elk hunting is rather dull to be honest, at least in my part of the country. You need to use a proper dog for it to be fun, which is not much use in the south because they have a very wide search and the elk may just as well run on into the neighbours... Anyway, the meat is superb though.

Boar hunting is really exciting, regardless if you sit and wait or use dogs. And again, the meat is superb, but then again I really like meat...

Have a nice weekend y'all.
