sjk88
Hi, This may seem like a bit of a daft question but I'm fairly new to shooting so forgive me, lol. I have a mil-dot scope and was wondering if the magnification I set the scope to affects which mil dot I hav 2 use for a certain distance?? For example, if the scope is zeroed to 30 yards at 3x magnfication, would I still use the centre of the crosshairs for a 30yard shot at 5x magnification? Also, if I used the first mil-dot up for 10 yards at 3x magnification (when zeroed for 30yards), would it still be the same at a higher magnification? Sorry if the wording is a bit confusing. Thanks, sjk
henry d
I`m no "Scope geek" but I imagine you are shooting an airrifle ? Also I would imagine you would have to tell us which scope it was so we could find out what lens the mil-dots/hairs were on.
sjk88
Yes I am shooting an air rifle and the scope is a Hawke Sport-HD 3-9x40. I don't think there are many of these scopes with mil-dots and think they tend to come as part of a package deal and as I can't find them newhere sold on their own. lewis
yes the mag does affect it . 8x makes it accurate but if you have it at 9x the mildots dont work.. Lew
