BrowningBoy
I got my Wife the Pro suit for an early xmas present, she wore it first time today in foggy and icy conditions and she was warm all day (and she really moans about the cold ) good value gear, next time out I'm buying the same stuff. BTW Using "Jack Orton" coat and trousers at the moment and can't fault them either but it's a shade more expensive
ziplex
Maybe i'm doing something wrong but my first impressions of it were it couldn't be beat for value. It is very comfortable, sort of breathable and to start with was waterproof. Over time I found i've got wet on a few occasions, to the point that I considered going home! Seems if you sit on wet areas you'll get a wet **** too. If the rain is really lashing down and being driven by the wind it is hopeless imo. I had one of the early suits and they may well have improved since, shame really as it was an impressive bit of kit to start with. I e mailed arctic outdoors to enquire if I should treat the suit with anything but failed to get a reply. Like most things we all try to save a buck or two but this suit backfired on me......hopefully others will tell you different and I may of got a rogue one or perhaps I was expecting too much. If it's cold without the chance of rain I still use it but always sit on my gun slip when on the foreshore!
fortune
A couple of the guys that I beat with have bought them and I've considered getting one myself. But if you do a search on here about them they are receiving differing reviews from those who have bought them. Some recon that they leak like a sieve and fall to pieces fairly easily and other like them and say that they are well made and very warm. I think that someone chucked theirs away because they thought it was a piece of junk. When I next see the guys that I beat with occasionally I will ask them what they recon and how hard they have worked theirs. After all it’s a balance between cost >> quality >> wear >> use that it is put to >> longevity.
jon0881
If the rain is really lashing down and being driven by the wind it is hopeless imo. That sounds like most of my best nights wildfowling! I must admit i was swaying towards the camo outfit as it would be good in summer too for pigeon shooting and the scent thingy might help if i do a bit of stalking. However i would feel a bit of a pillock going to pay for petrol in it! At the mo im wearing a barbour, standard set of 95's and a pair of ron thompson neo wellies. They are fine for the game days but the legs are getting a bit wet and cold on the marshes. I supose i could just get a new pair of pants because the barbour does hold out well. The best gear for me, is the gear that all the long timers at the club are wearing and luckily i think ive seen a few of these knocking about. ***EDIT*** Also, do you other wildfowlers carry a seat? If so any good ones?

Don't let me put you off Jahti Jakt, it may well be I had a bad 'un but you pays yer money, so to speak. I was tempted 'cause it seemed good, with hindsight I wouldn't bother. I'd love to tell you it's really good for the money, however I can't. (from too many wet experiences).
jon0881
I appreciate the honest reply mate! You cant get a better review than someone who has tested it in the field. A part of me hopes they have changed since you owned yours but like they usually say 'if its too good to be true'. Do you know what year you bought yours? It was last year, i've since bought a pro hunter jaket and the difference is night and day, goretex doesn't come cheap in any form but if you want to stay dry and not sweat after a long hike, (in my case 2 miles approx), it pays to get a garment with it incorporated, again my opinion, some will no doubt disagree......I hope Jahti Jakt has improved as it really is nice to wear, just doesn't work for me...........if you lived closer i'd wash the suit and let you try, as long as you'd wash it before returning
jon0881
lol thats a kind offer. I cant honestly see the spec changing that much in one year. My sprayway (gortex for skiing) and the barbour (wax) havent really let me down so it might be best to spend a little extra as you say. Guest The Outlaw
There is a real difference between the old and new suits, Mine gets used for fishing shooting building and everyday use and has never let me down. I must admit I thought the price was too good to be true, but its a fact it is too good for the price. I wont have anything else now. I have only heard of leaking on here so can only say I have never met anyone that has had probs. Cupraman got one and is trying it today, hopefully he can tell you what the new suit is like. Tony Hopefully you'll get a definitive answer, I don't like throwing money away and i'd be happy to recommend the stuff, I can't however, so I won't....the new gear may well be watertight and if it is then go for it, if it isn't go for something else. I will admit that if someone I knew well had tried it 'in the field' and it was as it should be it would offer fantastic value for money...hopefully Cupraman will test it in horrible conditions

Jim Tait
I got one last year and so far it's kept out everything the weather up here can throw at it. The outer soaks up a bit of weight when it gets wet, and it seems to take a while to dry out, but no complaints. Jim
dazza
I got the a set a year ago and recommend it. I've been out in heavy rain and the suit kept me warm and dry.
