Wemt out this morning shooting over barley. I dropped a bird flying straight towards the hide and with the resulting percussion of the shot I put up approx 80 birds. In the melle that ensued I dropped two more using up all the shots in my semi. In my rush to reload I was trying to feed the new carts into the receiver instead of the breach. By the time my tantrum was over and i realised that the gun was not broke, every bloody pigeon for miles had scarpered and I did not see another all day.

P.S

Is it only me, or does your average crow seem completely bulletproof?

Jim, Think i can beat that one!! Me and my mate took a friend out yesterday who has shot a few times before , to a pea field that had three flight lines and was swarming with woodies. Anyway set him up right over the flight line with a magnet and a dozen dead birds a let him crack on and we departed to our hides. Heard plenty of shots, about 60 and seen plenty of bird movment around his hide. So at the end of the day i went over with the dog to pickup and to my suprise he had only shot 6 woodies all day. He was totaly shocked, and new he could of had his 1st red letter day.But it was,nt to be. He asked how we had got on and i told him that we had shot 104 and 123.
