Olympic Games

I do not know how many people are aware of the fact that all of the shooting events for the 2012 olympics will be held at Woolwich, at a completly new facility that will then be torn down after the olympics.

So much for for the olympics leaving a lasting legacy that can then be used by the shooters of this country for the future.

Below you will find a link to the NSRA website that sets out what the NSRA and NRA would like to happen.

The basic fact is that if the shooting events were held at Bisley, for less cost than setting up new facilities in London, Bisley could be upgraded and be available for the foreseable future to train shooters from all disciplines for future Olympic Games.

As it stands at the moment there will be no lasting legacy for the shooters of this country.

We cannot even call it another Millenium fiasco because it will all be demolished and there will be nothing left.

If as me you feel strongly about this please click on the link and read the presentation, then go to page 12 and write to either one or all of the names shown and express your disgust that we will be spending all that money and have nothing to show for it at the end.

Rant now over so please read and respond to the names given.
